KVEC Energy Controllers utilize a unique patent-pending system that allows precise adjustment of power factor in an inductive motor. It is this precision that determines how efficiently a motor can operate. A precisely adjusted motor will use less energy, and its operating temperature will be lower, extending its useable life.
The reason we developed this adjustable system is that not all inductive motors are created equal. Even brand new, out-of-the-box motors, from the same maker, with identical specifications, can have quite different power factor test results. Imprecise corrections may be too little, or too much.
Under- correcting will not provide the best savings, in amps and dollars, and operating temperature. Over-correcting can cause amperage flows to increase rather than decrease, costing more money for energy, and possibly damaging equipment.
In addition, all KVEC Variable units are equipped with TVSS Surge Protectors, which direct, dangerous overvoltage surges harmlessly to ground, decreasing the likelihood of damage. Capacitors alone cannot do this.
